About

A high-speed circuit in Monza Park, combining long straights with chicanes and the Lesmo, Ascari and Parabolica sections.

History

Monza opened in 1922 after construction lasting approximately 110 days. Its history includes both the road circuit and a banked oval, although modern Grand Prix racing uses the road circuit. The first chicane was substantially revised in 2000, establishing the current 5.793 km configuration. Monza has hosted the championship-era Italian Grand Prix every year except 1980.
